AnIML Converter
Bring your data
into the open
Discover our growing list of supported data formats and instrument converters.
Most modern labs work with a wide variety of instruments, measurement techniques and colleagues. They shouldn’t be tied to any one proprietary file format or stuck in an inaccessible data silo. That’s why we’ve developed a robust library of data converters and instrument software connectors designed to unlock and open up your data, so you can work with it however you want.

Benefits of open scientific data
Reduce Integration Costs
Using common formats and interfaces like AnIML and SiLA for data conversion lowers the cost of accessing and using instrument data.
Simplify Data Portability
Data standards like AnIML enable faster integration with your ELN, ERP or LIMS lab information system by reducing the number of interfaces needed.
Increase Bi-directional Data Flow
Establishing an interactive communication interface with your instruments gives you a clear view of statuses, events and errors.
Ensure Data Integrity
Open standards give you complete and traceable documentation of what each instrument did, making them ideal for archival purposes.
Analytical Chemistry
Chromatography & Spectrometry
Analyze your liquid chromatography and gas chromatography data with our software. We support all common detectors. Our software lets you work with your spectrometry and optical spectroscopy data. You can even do kinetics.
Bioprocessing
Cell Cultivation
Bring all the data streams for a cell culture together: on-line data from bioreactors, off-line data from analytics and at-line data from in-process analytics. We support many popular bioreactor and microbioreactor platforms. OPC interfacing and file-based connectivity are also supported.
Process Chromatography
Manage your separation experiments from development to production scale. Track your fractions and the analytical work performed on them.
Biology
Track your in-process samples and run them on bioanalyzers, cell counters or blood gas analyzers, or analyze their osmolality.

Data converters & supported formats
Hub is specifically designed to support the FAIR data and metadata principles of Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability.
This guiding philosophy ensures that your scientific data are optimized for innovation as well as regulation.
Open formats
We’re great friends of open standard formats. In fact, we’ve even helped build some of the ones listed below.
If you have a choice, we recommend AnIML. In our experience it’s the most versatile format.
AnIML
XML format for analytical and biological data. Recommended.
ANDI / AIA / CDF
Chromatography format supported by most CDSs.
JCAMP-DX
Common format for spectroscopy and chromatography.
mzData
XML format for mass spectrometry.
mzML
XML format for mass spectrometry.
Semi-open Formats
The following formats are not public standards. However, Thermo has done a good job at publishing and documenting them, so we gladly support them.
GAML
Exchange format supported by many Thermo products.
SPC
Spectral format, common for IR, Raman and UV/Vis.
Vendor Formats
Over the years, we’ve created data converters for instruments from many vendors. The list below is just a brief summary.
Please contact us about your specific instrument model and software version, as formats may change over time.
