A Fresh New Look

It was time to give our corporate identity a little visual refresher. The first visible result is the new design of the web site. For the first time, we are using web fonts to spice up the typography a bit. Headings and certain navigation elements are done using the excellent Lato font by Łukasz Dziedzic. "Lato" is Polish and means "Summer". We liked the lightweight, clear and refreshing look.

We are experimenting with a large leaderboard graphic panel at the top of the page. It serves as an eye catcher and sets the tone of the page. In terms of content, we have broken down longer pages into serveral sub pages, leading to more clarity and better structure. The AnIML section has additional information about how to use the standard.

The new site is based on a responsive design. We're using CSS with media queries to ensure the items on a page layout cleany on different screen resolutions. Pages look great on smartphones and tablets now. This is becoming more and more relevant. Desktop web browsers still are the majority of our visitors. However, our newsletter subscribers visit the site from mobile devices. It looks like many are reading the newsletter on their mobile devices on their way to or from work.

Thanks to Jessica, our marketing manager, for driving the CI effort.
